This is a comparison between my old Vostro and me new inspiron. Specs on the Inspiron are supposed to be 1280 x 720 (HD) at 30 fps. Any ideas what is wrong?
The Inspiron 3543 is a very low-end system - 1366X768 resolution on the screen. Was the Vostro a higher-line system with perhaps a higher resolution screen (which is what it appears on the two images you've posted)?
Can you help me understand why changing the resolution on my monitor would fix this problem with the webcam? I have an Inspiron 17 5767(4K2PX32) Windows 10 - Thanks
This image is a screen shot. I had both computers running a zoom room with both of them recording me. It is not the monitor, I'm pretty sure, because its all from the Inspiron monitor. I have an Inspiron 5767. thanks for trying to help me with this.
Dell support says that the new camera has only 0.92 Megapixel. How can they call that 1280 x 720 (HD) at 30 fps? That is a very sorry excuse for a webcam. ***.
While we are at the screen, it’s important to note that the resolution is 1366×768 pixels. That’s an expected pixel count for a budget laptop. If you want to go 1920×1080 Full HD you’ll have to go for some other notebook series than the Inspiron 3000. And obviously have to shell out more cash.
I have an Inspiron 5767. Which comes with a 17.3-inch HD+ (1600 x 900) screen. I think people are confused about the example that LSUFAN51 gave above. I don't have an Inspiron 3000.
I opened Cyberlink Power Director 14 and was able to change the settings on the webcam from the default which was 640x480 to the max setting which is 1280x720. That helped. And the setting held when I went to zoom. But only the second time. So it's probably going to have to be reset a lot unless someone has a better idea. Thanks again for everyone's help.

In the meantime, you check or change the display's resolution on the system ?

Both of these pictures are being displayed on the monitor but obviously one is much clearer than the other. The clear one is the old computers webcam.
