Internal microphone on Alienware 18 plays surroundings sounds (TV) through speakers whenever enabled and volume up.

Unless I disable the microphone i hear surrounding noise through computer speakers and if Mic volume high enough I get feedback coming out of speakers. Is there a simple fix so i don't have to enable mic for say Skype and disable or turn microphone to 0 volume or disable. If I turn mic to 0 volume is hear surrounding sounds momentarily when booting up.

Make sure that "Listen to this device" is not checked.

Open the Recording tab of the Sound properties.

Right click on your mic and select Properties.

Select the Listen tab.

Uncheck the box if checked or select a different device to play through..

The screen shot below is just an example as it is from a laptop with IDT audio.
