Is a clean install possible?
Some months ago we got a Dell Inspiron for the kids, and on the off chance we ever wanted to use Windows ourselves. The children were given accounts without admin privileges, and we've let them do homework, play games, etc.
It's now a malware mess, including on my admin account.
OK, so I need to keep virus/malware protection up to date, rather than just letting it run, but I'll deal with that once I get this machine in a useable condition again.
Once upon a time, you could wipe a computer and reinstall everything. Is it still possible to do this?

I like to suggest you download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware(Free) software. It's the best for getting rid of nasty Malwares. Please click on the link below and stroll down to Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free:

Hi,
Thank you for writing to us!
We would suggest you to back up all the data on the system and then perform a factory reset .This will bring the system back to its factory defaults.
Kindly let us know if there are any future issues.
Thanks
Robin

Yes you can Download a Windows 10 TH2 .iso, make a Bootable USB and then clean install:

A factory reset sounded like a good option, but I was struggling to find a download for Windows, and I had no idea how a factory reset might be performed. However, I tried some of the function keys during reboots and found a Dell setup that let me reinstall Windows. So I did that. Once it was in, I updated to Windows 10 again, and now I have a clean system. For the moment.
I need to figure out a decent anti-virus package, but for now it's under control.

I'm happy your computer is working smoothly again. If you haven't downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware(Free) software, I highly recommend you do so to go along with the Anti-virus software. Keep in mind, Windows Defender is already installed in windows 10. I also like to recommend you create a recovery drive and create a system image backup for windows 10. Please click on the link below and watch video.
