Just go a new internal hard drive for my Dell Inspiron 1545

Just go a new internal hard drive for my Dell Inspiron 1545 because my last one crashed. I plugged in the new hard drive and started the computer and it loads with the dell screen. But then it goes to another black screen. This screen says "internal hard drive disk drive not found to restore this issue try to reset the drive" I have reseated the drive 3 times and still comes up. When I hit F2 and go to system info under primary hard drive it says none. I have loaded the defaults. I have done a diagnostics test and it can't find the hard drive. Please help, do I need to bring it somewhere to check the wires? If so how much would that cost? I already spend 40 on the new hard drive.

Did you buy a hard drive with 9.5mm thickness?

Is you BIOS uptodate?

Make sure you have the image on the hard drive. Or install from CD that came with your laptop. If you bought from Dell, they can verify image in the new HD. Or send you DVD  with image for s nominal costs if they have proof of purchase of OEM or if you were registered with them.
