L501X RAM
Hi, got a L501X XPS laptop - 3 years old at least and really wanted to know what the MAX RAM I can install is. Some doubt on net. Mine is the M460, 2.53 Ghz with Win 7 Premium. I'm hoping to install 16gb but I fear the max is 8. Thanks for your help.

You are right the maximum Ram that can be installed on the XPS L501X laptop is 8GB.
It has to be a DDR3 1066/1333 MHz SODIMM memory.
Please let me know if this helps.

Hi xiuxiuejar22,
It will surely make a lot of difference since you are increasng it from 4GB to 8Gb. I would suggest you to go for the DDR3 1333MHz (Faster transfer rate) SODIMM ram.
