L702X laptop wifi board is terrible

hi the wifi connection I have an intel board & Microsoft virtual wifi miniport adapter when I use this with the latest drivers which are circa 2013 I keep loosing the signal and the bandwidth download are terrible 18mbs but using a dual bt dongle I get the 76mbs I am due how does one permantly remove or disable this rubbish unit
