Laptop - water damaged

Inspiron N4110 had water spilled on it while powered up. Single beep cope repeated every few seconds. Only response is the initial noise from the DVD player. Question: are there any tricks to try before declaring it DOA?

You should have already turned it off and removed the battery. Quick action is necessary. Dry off any moisture and remove any devices that are connected. Leave it turned off and lid open for at least 48-72 hours. After several days when it has completely dried out, try connecting the adapter and see if it powers up. Then you can declare it dead. The worst thing is to try to start before completely drying out.

Mary,

Thanks. Was brought to me after the fact. I basically followed the protocol you outlined with the results I posted earlier. Looks like it gone. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
