Hi Can you please help with ram upgrade please on lLatitude 5480 .
Tried to install Cruicial Ballistix Sport 16GB kit 2x 8GB DDR4 2400 CL16 ( BLS2C8G4S240FSD ) modules in to latitude 5480 but laptop is not booting after - just power light flashes orange .
Tried single modules in bouth slots - also not working .
Ram is working fine in latitude e7470 .
Original Sk Hynix Working fine
How to get 5480 to accept it ?
Below are the memory specs for the Latitude 5480. Unfortunately, I have no information on the memory you are installing in your computer. I see that the memory your adding is UDIMM and not SODIMM.
Memory connector Two SODIMM slots
Memory capacity per slot 4 GB, 8 GB, and 16 GB
Memory type DDR4
Speed 2133 MHz
NOTE: The memory module in the Dual Core processor will have 2400 MHz printed, but it performs at 2133 MHz.
Minimum memory 4 GB
Maximum memory 32 GB
This laptop supports a minimum memory of :
4 GB and a maximum of 32 GB DDR4 memory, up to 2133 MHz (dual core).
4 GB and a maximum of 32 GB DDR4 memory, up to 2400 MHz (quad core).
You can click to download the online manual. Look in the manual at the diagnostic led pattern to determine the issue and resolution.. Dell only guarantees its memory to work in the computer.
I managed to get 16GB with with two ram module workingonly
if the original sk hynix is placed in slot B and Ballistic in slot A then system boots fine and shows 16GB
if i place original ram in slot A and Ballistix in slot B system will not boot and status light is flashing 2/3 memory not detected according to Latitude 5480 manual -
same with two ballystc sport modules -
strange might be something to do with duall chanel memory support ?
