gatis,
Below are the memory specs for the Latitude 5480. Unfortunately, I have no information on the memory you are installing in your computer. I see that the memory your adding is UDIMM and not SODIMM.
Memory specifications
Feature Specification
Memory connector Two SODIMM slots
Memory capacity per slot 4 GB, 8 GB, and 16 GB
Memory type DDR4
Speed 2133 MHz
2400 MHz
NOTE: The memory module in the Dual Core processor will have 2400 MHz printed, but it performs at 2133 MHz.
Minimum memory 4 GB
Maximum memory 32 GB
This laptop supports a minimum memory of :
4 GB and a maximum of 32 GB DDR4 memory, up to 2133 MHz (dual core).
4 GB and a maximum of 32 GB DDR4 memory, up to 2400 MHz (quad core).

gatis,
You can click to download the online manual. Look in the manual at the diagnostic led pattern to determine the issue and resolution.. Dell only guarantees its memory to work in the computer.

So the New Dell Latitude Users Will Be Limited SK Hynix Ram Only With No Option For Upgrades To Better Performance Ram Modules ?

I managed to get 16GB with with two ram module workingonly
if the original sk hynix is placed in slot B and Ballistic in slot A then system boots fine and shows 16GB
if i place original ram in slot A and Ballistix in slot B system will not boot and status light is flashing 2/3 memory not detected according to Latitude 5480 manual -
same with two ballystc sport modules -
strange might be something to do with duall chanel memory support ?
