Latitude D620 doesn't work at all!
In the middle of working a 3D program, the sreen flashed to a blue screen saying "hardware failure" and "see your hardware support", etc. From there I had to hard shutdown because I couldn't do anything else. When I tried to turn it back on, all the indicator lights flashed and went on as if it were really working, but nothing appeared on the screen, ever. Now i continues to do that and I have no clue what the heck to do.
The laptop is a Latitude D620 an it was brand new as of June 2007.
Please help, I don't wanna lose all of my work! (not to mention my laptop)
Thanks in advance.

Firstly, the laptop should be under warranty. So you're covered there. Most Lat's are 3 years.
It's possible that you've had a hardware (video, processor, motherboard) failure, brought on by the stress of the program you were using. People often run benchmarks to do just that.
Contact Dell to determine your warranty, and don't mess with it until repaired. More than likely, your hard drive (and its data) are fine, but trying to start up the laptop could do further damage.
Good luck.

I'd double check on the warrenty - They should give you a year, even if it was a replacement. You can check warranty status by entering your service tag # here:
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/my_systems_info/details?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd
You could check the basic parts:
Make sure your memory is seated (there's one chip under the keyboard)
Make sure all hardware is tight
Check ventiltion ports - rear left and bottom of unit - for blockage
Remove battery and unplug - let sit for an hour, then try to restart
remove cdroms, and other usb accys before doing any of this, to eliminate them from the issues
Other than that, I'm not comfortable telling you to dig into your unit much deeper, if you don't know what you are doing.

Yeah you're probably right about the motherboard being blown. Ok, I just tried something and I got a response, so this may help in diagnosing the problem more...
I plugged my pc's monitor into the back of the laptop and turned them both on, pushed (Fn + F8) and the monitor turned on but has colored, vertical lines throughout the screen while the laptop monitor stayed off. I tried running Windows normally and it gives me the infamous "blue screen of death". When I try running it in Safe Mode it works though. Now what should I do? Is it a monitor problem, a motherboard problem, or what? I've never had any problems with this laptop before.

If you can load it into safe mode, it's probably not a serious hardware issue, though video could still be an issue.
Have you backed up your files yet? If not, do it.
Have you tried using system restore (in windows)? Try going back a couple of days before you noticed the problem.
It's under Programs/Accessories/System Tools
If that doesn't work, and you've backed up your files, I'd wipe the drive and re-load windows and the drivers, before I replaced any parts. It can't hurt, and your hardware may be fine.

You load the Windows CD in first.
When you go into safe mode, does the laptop's LCD work?

Alright, well here's something wierd. After leaving the laptop alone for 24 hours, I decided to just try it again and see if it worked, and amazingly it did. I only noticed one Windows error which I didn't know what it was, but it didn't affect it in any way that I could see. I ran virus scan, spyware scan, and it caught nothing. After like 2 hours of normal use on the laptop, it suddenly froze and the screen went really wierd. I had to hard shutdown and after trying again, the "hardware failure" blue screen came up again.
I'll try doing some more things to fix it first before I wipe the harddrive like you said. And by the way, no, the laptop LCD didn't work when it was in safe mode, only the extra connected monitor that I set up.

Ok if the internal display is not working only the external;then you have some hardware issues with the system board going on perhaps prcessor(built in into the system board) or even memory(doubtfull)
Look into the app you're working with first, try not to stress the processor too much run something like a worrd doc or even internet connection. The 3D app you're running may be eating up on your processor and memory resources.... If it still happening while running on a simple application I would say a bad logic board for sure. But before that I would remove one of the memory chips you have ...I've seen it many times one of those DIMMs could be the fault of it all.
