Latitude E5470 - Asset Tag (Serial Number) as PC name

We use a script in SCCM OS Deployment to assign PC name based on a WMI query of the BIOS SerialNumber.  This works for all of our earlier models, but not on the E5470 so the resulting PC name is MININT-something and it has to be manually changed.  Once the OS deployment is finished, running a WMI query from the command line (wmic get bios serialnumber) properly returns the value that should have been detected during the OS deployment.

Any ideas as to why this not working on the E5470?
