Verify the wall outlet is working correctly by following steps below:

1. Unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet

2. Connect another device on the wall outlet to verify if the wall outlet is working correctly

3. Try a known-good wall outlet

4. Plug the AC adapter directly to the wall outlet. By-pass any power regulators like surge protectors, UPS (uninterruptible power supply), power splitters etc,.

Note: If the AC adapter is connected to a docking station, connect the AC adapter directly to the laptop to verify the functionality.

Also check and see if the LED indictor on the AC adapter is lite up. The light on the adapter should be solid green or blue. Reset the AC adapter by following these steps:

1. Unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet for 15 seconds.

2. Unplug the AC adapter from the PC.

3. Plug the AC adapter to a known-good wall outlet

4. Plug the AC adapter to the PC.

5. Check the LED indicator on the AC adapter

Lastly, check status of the AC adapter and Battery health in the BIOS by following steps below:

1. Power off system. Remove all peripherals (except AC adapter).

2. Power on system, quickly start tapping the F2 key continuously.

In the BIOS, the AC adapter should be listed under the main screen. The adapter should say it type, if it says None or Unknown then it's an issue with the adapter, and most likely needs to be replace with a new genuine Dell adapter. Note: Please wiggle the adapter's end while checking it in the BIOS

The battery health should be listed under the Advanced tab. The battery health should say Your Battery Is Performing Normally, any other message mean most likely the battery is faulty.
