Latitude E6410 does not work with Dell Monitor 2709w

My 2709w intermittantly blacks out the screen for a second and come back on with a small DVI symbol in the upper left corner of the screen.

I used to run this monitor with a Latitude D630 and it was great now I changed to a Latitude E6410 running Windows 7 with a e-series docking station and have these problems. It looks as if the monitor does not get a robust signal from the new Latitude E6410.

Is there anything I can do?

Is it set up for auto detect or do you have it set to DVI?

what happens if you run straight from the laptop bypassing the docking station?

Thanks for responding.

The monitor is set for DVI, as it always was when I used it with the D630.

The E6410 does not have a DVI Port, neither did the D630.

check that the DVI connector is firmly connected to the monitor and docking station - use the screws on the connectors.  I had same problem today and that fixed it.
