Latitude E6440 external display blinks when connect via hdmi
The problem: Latitude E6440 external display blinks when connect via hdmi (see attached video file)
Dell Latitude E6440:
Bios A13,
Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600,
AMD Radeon HD 8690M.
In charging state (while charge level less than 100% ) - no problem, after 100% - again problem
Some test cases:
Primarily AC Use: problem
Custom mode: 50% start ...90% stop charge (~70% charged level) - problem
Express mode: problem
Some correlation from time after ON:
~ 1....15 min - often (up 3..5 mins between re-connection HDMI)
~ 15.....30 min - rare (up to 10 mins between re-connections)

Hi SI K,
If you haven't already done so can you update the Intel 4600 and AMD8690M first.
If the issue is still there then:
1. Restart the system and tap F2 to enter to the Bios
2. Navigate to 'Virtualization' and choose Disable (uncheck the box)
3. Also disable VT for Direct Io and Trusted Execution
4. Return to the main menu in the Bios and select Power Management Option and disable Advanced Battery charge configuration
Once you have done that check to see if the issue is resolved.
If it isn't then open the Intel Graphics Control Panel, go into Advanced Resolution and change the frequency for the LCD from 40Hz to 60Hz

Ok. I will try to do this today and inform about results.
A few questions:
I use VmWare and Hyper-V tools for software development and disable Virtualization/VT for Direct is not good solution for me. It is acceptable solution on a few months.

Hi.
In general case - the same problem. Solution is not found.
it is possible to run some cpu/gpu/power monitoring/debug software. Any new idea ?
Some results with different drivers:
Disable Virtualization and VT of Direct
disable Advanced Battery charge
Intel latest HD4600_win64_154010.4300
AMD driver uninstalled

Let me look a bit more into this, but in the meantime:
Did you try changing the LCD frequency from 40 to 60 and what happened?
If you use any other video output cable is it ok?
Are you using any dongles to output the video? If you are, remove them and try a straight through video output (if possible)

Changing LCD frequency for external monitor and TV from 25 to 60 - problem.
The HDMI output can work correctly only without AC (internal battery) or internal battery is discharged and in "charging mode".
I found this problem after unboxing new notebook (less than 24Hr) and supposed problems with HDMI cabes or my monitor. I tested with a few HDMI cables and monitors.
video dongles ? no. Simple [E6440] <--> [HDMI Output] <-->[HDMI CABLE]<--> [HDMI Input] <--->[TV or Monitor]
VGA output works without problem. It is workaround for me now.

I tried a few "Power Options" High performance ... max energy save.
Nothing :) The same problem - blinks
Power parameters as you proposed (check it) - problem HDMI "blinks"

I have the same issue. Without battery just with AC charger a bit better but my display blinks randomly quite often unfortunaltey. :-(

If you've followed all the steps that I've suggested previously and there is still a flicker then PM me your Service Tag so I can check your specifications
