Latitude c840 and True Mobile mpci (wxp)

Does anyone have a mechanism to make this mpci work on a c840? Have seen previous thread re:W2000, but does not seem to apply to Wxp. Bios OK (v13), recognizes card, but installation of driver says incompatible. Previous thread describes dell subsystem not recognizing card and a way to get around this with a system config file. Anyone know how to do this and also undestand how/why the sybsystem does not allow to install xp driver? Thanks Mike

Hi Mike,

What's the model of the WLAN card, and which driver are you trying to install?

Thanks for the reply!

Mini pci card is :Broadcom bcm 94306mp. Have tried several windows xp souces for this diver. Driver is: Broadcom Provider -bcmwl5.sys, file version 4.150.31.0. Card is recognized as Broadcom 802.11g Network adapter by OS (W xp sp3. - all up to date), and error message is code 10 (This device cannot start).

Bios shows mini pci is enabled, but does not recognize name/details of the card. Have uninstalled, and reinstalled driver,, etc. Have obtained this driver from seveal sources but always same result.
