M3800 Windows 10 - sleep / hibernate issue

I've read quite a few posts with similar problems, but none seem quite the same.

Under Windows 10 I close the lid and it goes to sleep. Open the lid again and press the power button and it returns as before, as long as the time I leave it is short. If I leave it asleep for a long time, not quite sure how long but I think it varies, the laptop always does a fresh boot. Everything works, just I lose the previous state. Hibernate has the same behaviour.

As soon as I got this laptop I upgraded it to Windows 10 so I can't say if it's the OS. I've installed all the latest drivers from Dell as well as the latest A10 BIOS.

Event Viewer has a couple of entries saying the computer didn't shutdown properly and there's a crash dump. I've opened it in WinDBG but all it shows me is memory corruption in nt and no hints as to a driver that's at fault.

Anyone else have similar? Please don't tell me it needs a new motherboard.

(Otherwise this is a great laptop).

Thanks.

This is Windows 10

You might want another computer just because I've only seen this with Dell PCs.

I'm sorry.

In case anyone is listening I seem to have fixed it by disabling the NVidia driver in Device Manager.
