M3800 touchpad

Is the m3800 touchpad the same as the xps15 touchpad? My m3800's touchpad has started to rise and is now about 1mm above the palm rest and is not really able to click. I want to try swapping it out, but can't find any replacement m3800 touchpads. However, xps 15 touchpads are pretty easy to find - would I be able to put the xps 15 touchpad into my m3800?

Hi @adrimo.   +1  I'm having the exact same problem, except mine is now around 3-4mm off the palm rest.

Really quite annoying when you knock it whilst typing.

Hoping someone can help us out.

@RobbieG1983, I think my trackpad started rising due to a battery issue. The battery started expanding and pushed the trackpad up, maybe about 2-3mm. After replacing the battery with a new one, the trackpad went back down to only 1mm raised, but still won't click and still annoying. It might be worth checking the battery on your machine.

@Adrimo

I'll take a look when I get chance, but I'd still like to replace it as the right click is so difficult to get it to work.

I'll get a new battery too if that's the case. My machine does get hammered... :)
