M6300 can not load .wim via WinPE boot disk
Hi there,
We have just aquired our first Dell Precision M6300. When I get a new Dell desktop or laptop model in the door, the first thing I do is try applying our standard image (.wim) and checking what drivers need updating. This is done via RIS and a WinPE boot disk. Our current process using the WinPE boot disk works with Optiplex GX620, 745, 755, Latitude D620, D630. The only issue I have encountered apart from adding new nic drivers to the WinPE boot disk, is the config of the SATA drive operation in the BIOS.
I have the 'SATA Operation' set to 'ATA' in the BIOS. If I set it to the
only other option (AHCI) then the imaging process fails with a message about not being able to format the hard disk. With ATA set, the process fails by timing out. Has anyone else had this issue with the M6300? Is it possible there is another BIOS setting that needs to be configured?
Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Howard
