Manage SSD

I have a dell xt with ssd 64gb, U7600, mediabase, 2GB ram.

You could give me some suggestion to manage the ssd to the best (defrag yes or no?, file swap, etc.)

Thanks

I researched the defrag question pretty thouroughly for my studio xps 13 with samsung 128gg SSD:

Defrag has little or no positive impact.

Defrag actually can reduce the live of the storage cells in a SSD, which have only so many read/writes to and from them. Although limits are believed to be in 3 -5 years.

Thanks.

And about virtual memory? Must I disable it?

I wondered about virtual memory but so far have not found anything about it. I am assuming (big mistake) that this was taken into account in calculating expected life.

PS: The newer controllers intentionally level the usage of particular cells so that they have level usage
