My Dell Inspiron is not working and has a error code 0146
Hi, my laptop is not working and I have been trying to fix the problem myself so I put the laptop on and pressed F12 and done a Diagnostic and it came back with this code......0146.
Can I get my work off 1st before I clear everything off....??

Hi Razzle
Welcome to the Dell Community. As you have written that you are getting error code: 2000-0146 after running the hardware diagnostic it seems to be a corruption on the hard drive.
I would recommend you to add a low level format on your system and reinstall the operating system.
You can follow the steps in the link : http://tinyurl.com/4dt7gs3
In case there is important data on the system which you can’t afford to lose then the best possible suggestion would be to contact data recovery companies like ontrack, drivesavers, gillware, etc or your local technician before formatting the drive.
Hope this will help you to resolve the problem.
Thank you

To recover your data, remove the hard drive, mount it in a 2.5" external case and attach it to a working system by USB. Copy your files.
Then replace the faulty drive with a new one and reload everything.
