My Laptop won't go past the blue Windows 7 start up screen.

Jump to solution

I just got an Inspiron N5050 two days ago. It's been working fine until this morning. I powered it up, everything went fine. I put in my password and then I was stuck at an empty Windows 7 screen (it had the Windows 7 logo at the bottom). I've done the diagnostic test, and it says that everything is fine. I'm utterly confused on why this is happening. Please help. Thanks.

Hi Forbidden_Oasis,

Greetings from Dell.

1)     If the system is able to boot through safe mode kindly perform a system restore to a known good restore point. (To get to safe mode Tap F8 during start up and select safe mode using arrow Keys)

2)     You could also try “Last known good configuration”
(To get to this option  Tap F8 during start up and select "Last known good configuration"  using arrow Keys)

Kindly revert for any further assistance.
