N5110 7 Beeps

I get 7 beeps after I click the power button.  I can't find much help on my options but I understand this might mean a processor issue???  I am fairly handy so is this something I could do myself if I purchase parts?  My laptop is NOT under warranty.

RE: N5110 7 Beeps

Hi Donnie1987

7 Beeps on startup on an Inspiron system means a processor failure. I’d suggest that you follow the steps mentioned below and check for issue resolution.

  1. Switch off the computer.
  2. Disconnect the AC adapter from the system.
  3. Remove the battery from the computer.
  4. Press and hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
  5. Then connect back all the peripherals and check if you are able to switch on the system.

Please let me know the findings.

Ravi, thanks for the reply.

I followed these instructions and received the same result, 7 beeps.

If its not under warranty then you can try this.
