Need to transfter Outlook 2007 from old PC with Windows XP to new laptop Windows 8

I want to start out by saying, I am basically a novice so if I’m not providing enough info please advise and I will do my best to provide more. I have new Dell Inspiron M731R laptop w/windows 8. I thought I had purchased Outlook but it wasn’t included w/my preinstalled Microsoft Office package. My old PC has XP and I have Outlook 2007 on it. I don’t have the discs as it was preinstalled on the PC. I don’t have anything on a cloud. Questions:

1 - Is there a way to transfer the Outlook 2007 (to do, contacts, tasks & calendars) to my new lap top so as not to start from scratch?

2 – If I purchased Outlook 2013, how can I transfer the info (to do, contacts, tasks & calendars) of Outlook 2007 to my new lap top that would have Outlook 2013 so as not to start from scratch?

Yes, you can export all your current information to a pst file, and then import it to the new system once you have Office 2013 installed.

Thank you ejn63, this seems simple enough. Once I purchase the new Outlook I think I will try this transfer method.

wb8slqgak , looking at the link it seems more for helping with trouble shooting. I will have to review it further but it seems that the link will be helpful should I run into problems. Thank you
