New Inspiron 1500 (5567) - Gigabit Lan?
Hello
I purchased the new Inspiron 1500- 5567 partly because is says Gigabit Ethernet in the product description page. Can someone confirm whether Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller Hardware id PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_07671028&REV_07 can do Gigabit as advertised?. It is max of 100Mbps in speed and duplex.

These are 10/100 fast ethernet adapters - they're not gigabit-capable.
The specifications are listed here:

It says Gigabit here from where I purchased, so it really should have gigabit as advertised www.dell.com/.../pd

You'll want to contact Dell UK - though it's not likely, it's possible that the UK version is different from the US one. If it's not, there's a typo in the specifications - which they should correct if you bring it to their attention.
The vast majority of consumer-level systems don't have gigabit Ethernet.

I've been caught too. Totally unacceptable for a win10 Pro machine to be sold with a 10/100 card, especially with a DDR4 supporting motherboard and latest i7 CPU and SSD. BOTTLENECK!

Dell's talk of their consumer level systems not supporting gigabit LAN is out of touch and old fashioned.
