New Motherboard / No Internet

Hi all,

Dell just replaced the motherboard on my Inspiron 3542 and everything seemed to be A-OK. However, I come home and it doesn't detect any WIFI connections, and nor can I add any connections manually. What am I missing? Any advice?

Thanks!

M.

Does the system detect the network adapter (use the device manager to check)?

Did the system connect when you received it back from Dell?

It didn't connect when I received it. Didn't have the chance to check at the time.

And when I checked device manager it recognizes a bunch of miniports and a "Realtek PCle FE Family Controller".

Means absolutely nothing to me, but any help much appreciated!

Looks like the wireless adapter has gone missing.  Are there any devices listed that have yellow splats next to them?

This is what I'm looking at. Using my iPhone to browse right now.

Thanks!

Contact Dell to have them follow up on the repair - either someone left the wireless card disconnected or out of the system.
