Hi,

I have a new XPS 15 -(9550) - Windows 10 Pro

I am getting issues with the wifi connection dropping intermittently.

I have another two other dell laptops and the wifi connection is rock steady.

I've updated the wifi drivers to the latest on the dell site  Communications_Driver_NYN84_WN32_1.519.0.0_A01.EXE

I have also flashed the bios as per the dell site:

XPS_9550_1.0.7.exe

Finally I have removed the wifi device drivers completely and reinstalled

However my wifi connection still drops. The only way to re-instate is to switch the wifi off on the laptop then back on again.

Please can you help?

Same issue here.. In my case probably the antenna is broke. I also see scattered bars, so they have to replace the whole screen, where the antenna's are also located..

Looks like I found the solution.

Disable all the power saving for the wifi card.

Specifically,

1. go into control panel/hardware and sound/power options/edit setting.

2. click on advanced power settings.

3. Scroll down to Wireless Adapter settings

4. on power saving mode, set On battery to Maximum Performance.  Set Plugged in to Maximum Performance

Since I've set these options 3 days ago, my wifi has been completely stable. Hope it helps you guys too.

This problem has been driving me crazy since I got my laptop and I didn't notice that it only happened when I was not plugged in.

Only happens when the laptop goes into a S3 Sleep State... If you disable sleep in BIOS it fixes the issue which needs to be addressed by Dell.   Its funny though if you enable hybrid sleep / hibernate before hand, the system won't sleep but even though sleep is disabled it will still go into hibernation... something is up lol.   The good thing is WiFi still works after hibernation.

Is Dell the only laptop that doesn't use the Intel wireless chipset?  Really.  I can't find a single major brand laptop that uses something other than the Intel chipset.  At least you can download the Intel drivers from Intel and get timely updates.  No such support from the Dell/Broadcom dynamic duo.  Thanks Dell.

A lot better than what i'm getting, Can't even find any wireless networks let alone even enable my wireless card it says enabling but then stops.

I am running Win7 though

I've noticed whenever the microwave is in use, the wireless driver crashes. I know this because I went through SupportAssist and found that the wireless driver failed and caused the crash. The microwave is between me and the router, but it shouldn't crash. My other laptop which is years older now temporarily loses wifi signal then hops back on when the microwave is done. Anyone else has this problem?
