Newly delivered Dell 7759 won't boot

Hi

I have a newly delivered Inspiron 7559. First boot was successful, but it stopped working as soon as Windows Update downloaded the first driver update. It's not worked since in spite of multiple factory resets. I've tracked it down to the NVIDIA driver which is blue screening with DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION errors

1) ePSA hardware tests pass

2) Doing a reset with the shipped factory image ends up in BSOD / reboot loop during setup after the image has been applied (with network disconnected)

3) Doing a reset from a downloaded Dell USB recovery image for this system (with network connected) ends up in BSOD / reboot loop during setup after updates are downloaded

4) Doing a reset from a downloaded Dell USB recovery image for this system (with network disconnected)  works and boots up with generic Microsoft Basic Display Driver.
4a) if Windows Update or automatic driver download is left enabled system blue screens when driver updates are downloaded

4b) if Windows Update and automatic driver download is disabled, then system is stable (using Microsoft Basic Display Driver). System stays stable after installing all recommended updates from Dell Driver Detect (NVIDIA driver isn't listed by Dell Driver Detect and device remains as Unknown in Device Manager after Dell Driver Detect finishes). If NVIDIA driver for this model is manually installed from Dell support site, then the system blue screens after installation.

I contacted Dell support who said this wasn't covered under warranty, and I'd need to use paid support. That doesn't sound right given the system is DOA

Are there working video drivers for this laptop? If not, then it's not fit for purpose and I want to return it.

Thanks

Mark

Sounds like a bad nvidia gpu to me, I would get a replacement laptop. A watchdog timer is a low level blow up if I dont finish something in enough time timer
