No video on new screen XPS M1530
Hi All,
I've just received a Dell XPS M1530 with a cracked screen.
When i replace it with the original screen what this laptop have been equipped (other rev. no.), the backlight will turn on, but nothing is been displayed.
Have tried other models, other resolutions, another LCD cable but nothing seems to work.
Also the Built-in LCD Self Test shows all the colors with no faults and when connected over VGA of HDMI there are no problems.
------------ !!!!
When I connected a Quantas Display screen (1280x800), the bios is been displayed 4 times (like 4 times a quarter screen). And when it boots up to Windows the screen functions normally.
----------- !!!!!!
Hope you guys have an answer how to solve this problem!
Thanks in advance,
Kind Regards,
Colin

It sounds like the screen(s) you are trying are not fully compatible with the system. Notebook LCDs are not universally interchangeable - the one that works under Windows but not before isn't being correctly identified by the system.
