Not able to create factory image and recovery tools in dell latitude

Hi,

I tried to burn factory recovery disc using Dell Backup and Recovery Manager. But inside create  a recovery disc I found that  factory image and recovery tools options are disable and not able to burn factory recovery disc.

Also I tried Data Safe Local Backup Basic but found during the installation got message no recovery environment found.

Please help me to create a bootable disc or original factory disc.

My laptop is Dell Latitude E5420.

Hi RAKHEEV,

Please find the link below for instruction to create Windows 7 recovery media:

http://dell.to/1a7NzaI

In case you are unable to create the recovery media, you may try uninstalling Dell Data Safe local backup from Programs and Features and reinstall once again from the link below:

If you are still unable to create the media, I suspect the recovery partition is corrupted and you may have to manual install the Operating system.

Hi RAKHEEV,

Thank you for the update. This error message indicates that the recovery partition is either deleted or corrupted. In this situation, only option is to manual install the Operating system.

Hi Sujatha,

But in the disk management, I can see the recovery partition showing healthy status. If its corrupted is there any way to fix this? Also can I delete this partition so I can utilize this memory?

During manually OS installation (Win 7 Professional version) how to activate windows and if i used the product key from the windows sticker, will it be genuine software ?

Thanks

Rakheev

Hi rakheev,

Recovery partition will be present, but the files may be corrupted. You may delete the partition and utilize that memory. Ideally you will not be prompted to enter the product key if you are installing the Operating system from the OEM disc sent by Dell. It will be automatically activated.

In case you are prompted for the product key, you may enter the product key which is listed on the COA label on the computer.

Refer to the following link for manual installation of Windows 7 Operating system:

Revert for further queries.

Hi Sujatha,

Thanks for the info.

When I purchased my dell laptop I didn't received Dell OEM OS disc. So now can dell provide me this disc or is it available to download from dell website?

Or can i use any other Win 7 professional disc and if I enter product key from the COA label will this activate win 7?

Thanks,

Rakheev
