Ownership transfer

Good Afternoon,

i have buy Alienware M17x in Russia.

Before the end of the warranty I’ve requested the official Dell Service Center for the warranty extension and was promised that the warranty is to be extended for one year.

It has been also clarified that the guarantee is intended for the United States only, therefore the target guarantee country should be changed to Russia and for that the ownership transfer is to be performed. Since the purchase has been done long time ago (but less 3 years ago) the buyer is currently unknown and even the seller or the official Dell Support don’t have this information.

Please, advise how can I change the guarantee for Russia?

Kind Regards, Vladimir.

Unless you can find the original (registered) owner, you're out of luck.

I have also tried (~20 days ago). Nothing change. No incoming letter .

I suppose Previous Owner Information in request  incorrect.

Then there should be no issue at all -- but what you've written above suggests you were not the original buyer.

I've now read it three times - it still makes no sense.  If you're trying to transfer ownership to someone else, see here:

www.dell.com/.../IdentifySystem

If you're trying to obtain ownership, the current, registered owner needs to see that link.

Note, though:  not all warranty terms are transferable between countries.
