Hi,

Thank you for reaching us.

"Your battery experienced permanent battery failure, your need to replace your battery" error message indicates the battery is reaching end of its usable life.

You may have to replace the battery to fix this issue. Just to confirm the charger is working fine, Go to BIOS by tapping the F2 key on the startup Dell logo, there must be an option for "AC Adapter type". Check what does it reads.

This should help us isolate the faulty part.

Thank you

man , i know replacing the battery will fix this issue.

yeah  adapter working fine, i already checked it.

but i want to ask, my lappy is just 1 year 9 month old, having original battery, then how can it reach to its usable life in this much time?

even it has very good battery back up upto 5 hrs, my friends having battery of backup 3 hr and still those are working fine.

whats wrong happened in my case?

is it not less period for a original battery?

Hi,

Batteries are consumable parts , Its lifetime varies totally depending on the usage. they could last just over a year or even 3-4yrs.

If you're battery gives 5hrs backup, You may continue using the same battery.

Thank you

Hi,

Inspiron 5521 was shipped with 2 battery types.

4 Cell and 6 Cell. You can install one of them, however a 6 cell battery gives a better backup time than 4 cell.

Only 4 cell that is listed in the link you shared in the post.

Thanks

thanks for your response :)

so can i buy this ?http://www.flipkart.com/4d-dell-insprion-15r-5521-6-cell-laptop-battery/p/itme55g3zfxec6ga?pid=ACCE55G3WRSTDHCM&ref=L%3A-8856836344703990830&srno=p_14&query=dell+5521+battery&otracker=from-search ?

since on compuindia.com there is warranty of just 3 month on battery but here on flipkart or any other sites i am getting 1 year warranty. so i am not getting any reason to buy it from official dell store.
