Power Cord

I purchase a new power cord that matches the one came with my laptop. Now I keep receiving message that my cord is not accepted and will not charge. How do i get the my laptop to accept the cord so it will charge

If the adapter is not OEM Dell, this will happen.  If it IS OEM Dell, and it's the second adapter to produce the same error, the problem is with the DC jack in the system or with the mainboard -- the next step is to replace the DC jack if it's replaceable.  If you need to know, we'll need the full model number (i.e., Inspiron 5531, etc. - not just Inspiron 15, or 15 3000 series, etc.).

Sounds like the new one isn't the same, even if it looks the same.  There are a lot of counterfeit AC adapters out there that look like genuine OEM adapters.  I would return the one you just bought.
