Power wall outlet and USB-C docking Latitude 5580

Hi

We bought a lot of Latitude 5580's with the Universal Dock D6000. What happens when the user connects the default power adapter (the round one) AND the D6000 USB-C (power over USB) at the same time? Is the power of one source automatically shut down?

We have also the Latitude 5285 (tablet). When we connected the default adapter from the wall outlet (USB-C adapter) together with the USB-C from the D6000 docking, the docking ... melted. It is a dangerous situation when one of the power sources isn't shut down automatically.

I believe what's supposed to happen is that the system will start charging from the regular wall adapter, because there some systems require more than the D6000's maximum 60W power delivery anyway.  But why are you connecting both at the same time?  But why are you connecting both anyway?  Just simulating various "clueless user" scenarios?

Hi

"But why are you connecting both anyway?"

That was a user accident, he didn't knew the docking also gave power. In the past, it wasn't possible. You could only connect one power cable. With the 5580 or the 5285, you can connect two power sources at the same time (5580: round power cable + USB-C and 5285: two times USB-C).

I think it is quite confusing for the average end user; power over USB?! For us, IT guys, it is normal, but not for the end user. When connecting two power sources, one should be shut down automatically.
