Precision M3800 - Two Desktops - How to?

I have a Precision Workstation M3800 laptop.

The question is: How do I get two desktops? One on the laptop display (intel) and one on the external display (nvidia).  I do not want a single desktop to span the two displays, and I do not want a single desktop mirrored on the two displays.

I have done this previously by disabling the integrated graphics card (intel) and just using the discrete graphics card (nvidia).  I now understand that I can not disable the intel card.  How do I get this working?

The reason I paid big bucks for a precision workstation was just so I could use the discrete graphics and have two desktops.

Thanks in advance!

If you have done this previously, why can't you do it again?

Or was it with a different Dell model?

Why spend $$$ before verifying you can do what you want? That is backwards.

In response to the useless reply from IEEE488:

1) Different laptop.

2) I did verify the hardware. Just didn't expect the BIOS to be bludgeoned.

3) Do you know how to disable the integrated graphics card?

4) Do you know how to enable Two Desktops as described?

Thanks,

Bob
