Initially both tabs were empty: reinstalled the audio driver, solved the sounds tab.
Mic is still empty.
Right-clicked to show disabled/disconnected devices, still nothing.
I guess you mean the Recording tab of the Sound dialog. Yeah, it does seem like the tab ought to have "Microphone" showing, to reflect the microphone jack even if there is no internal mic.
