Dell Quickset allows you to disable the touchpad. See if you have that installed. You should always mention your operating system when posting.
Re your second post--you cannot disable selected parts of the touchpad. It's all or nothing. Add a usb mouse to do what you want.

I try to disable the touchpad in the bios.
But it disable also the mouse in the midle of the keyboard. And I want to use only this one
Also there is not Dell program under program files\dell:
do you have a solution to disable only the touchpad not the mouse in the middle of the keyboard

Thanks for the quick answer Mary,
M4500 with Win7
I couldn't find Dell Quickset with a search on my harddrive
I'm using the mouse stick between letter GHB and want to disable the touch pad.
If it is not possible to disable only the touchpad is it possible to make it less sensible

I also have an M4500 and I don't have the touchpad options in the mouse control panel. I can't see to find any options for the touchpad. I'd really love to disable the thing when I have a mouse installed!

This option is not available using the dell touchpad driver for the precision M4500.
I'm having the same issue. I know this thread is old, but thought i'd post here since it's the exact same problem.
Win 7 OS.

Same for me.
Did you find a solution?
My touchpad disabled itself automatically when I connected the wireless mouse. But not anymore and I can'f find or don't have Dell Quickset.
Thanks to anybody who can help with issue: How to disable the Touchpad.
