Problems with Nvidia Geforce 7900

My computer screen randomly goes black. I can get a screen in safe mode. If I uninstall the video driver and reinstall it, it will work great for a while. I have tried using driver sweeper, but after a day or two the same problem occurs. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Run the Dell diagnostics on the video card - you will likely see the video RAM fails the test.  If so, replace the video card.

Are you getting any kind of vertical lines, artifacts or distortion?

I have 4 failures of 7950GTX in Dell XPS m1710.

Sill under warranty and Dell keeps replacing with refurbished cards but supply of these must be running out?  I am asking Dell to do the right thing and replace the faulty machine.  I bought a "top end' gaming laptop and got nothing but a lemon.

Dell has now advised that nVidia has admitted cards are faulty and the fix for mine will be to replace with a new 9850 GPU configured to fit the XPS m1710.  However i have to wait at least 4 weeks as there is a "global shortage".
