Problems with playing games on my Insprion 15R SE with AMD Radeon 7700M - Constant flashing + very slow.
Games like Skyrim are now completely unplayable due to this constant flashing during the game, even during the start-up screen. It plays okay if I choose to play via the Intel HD 4000, but obviously this is very laggy even on the lowest settings. It was fine before, but I think an update has rendered it useless. I'm finding it hard to find the previous driver to download, as the Catalyst thing downloads the latest one automatically.
Does anyone know a way to fix this? All I've had is problems with my graphics cards from day one of getting this laptop, I wish I got one with one dedicated graphics driver instead of a hybrid :(

Hi, sorry to hear your having issues playing games.. from what ive heard these drivers by AMD seem to help most people reporting the same issues you are having..
but on a side note skyrim is a pretty intense game in the first place and will give a most graphics cards a run for its money.. try these new drivers and report back if that helped at all..

Hi jspjspjsp,
I would suggest you to not update the video card drivers from Windows update or manufacturer website as Dell Inspiron 15R SE comes with ‘Switchable graphics’ feature. To make the feature work you will have to install only the Dell driver update for both Intel HD graphics and AMD graphics card on the system.
I would suggest you to uninstall the ‘catalyst control center’ & ‘Intel HD 4000’ from ‘Programs and Features’ under the control panel and reinstall it in a sequence given below.
Please update the Intel HD Graphics and then AMD Graphics Driver on the system in a sequence for issue resolution. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then download the drivers required onto the system and install it.

Thanks for your replies!
I've learnt the hard way about not updating it through Windows Update. The ones from the dell website don't actually work either, when I try to install the Intel HD Driver, it gives me a notification saying that it's not suitable for my device or something, even though I know for a fact it is. The AMD Catalyst driver from dell says it's installed, but then there's nothing on my system suggesting that it's been installed.
I've been using ones from the Intel and AMD website for a time and Skyrim was working perfectly even on high settings with no flashing, but now I just get constant flashing even on the lowest settings - the settings do not effect the flashing. The problem is with the AMD card, as when I disable the AMD card and run it on my Intel, it works fine.
I can't find a way to get an older AMD Catalyst driver :( and I have no idea which Intel driver to use as the one on the dell website doesn't even work for me now.

Hi ravi, his system should work with these new drivers just fine..
I understand the "SWITCHABLE GRAPHICS" but i do not follow how the new betta drivers would not work on his machine..
correct me if i am wrong but the alienware line up has the same switchable graphics and the drivers straight from amd or nvidia work just fine...
ill test on my inspiron and see but i am pretty sure no issue would arise..

Hello again, what temperatures are you seeing on your system?
there are several programs your can use to see this..
HWinfo is one and its free..
are you seeing any other issue with any other games or programs?

Hi jspjspjsp,
Please consider flashing the BIOS on the system and then download and install the Intel and AMD drivers on the system in sequence. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, then download the BIOS required onto the system and install it.
