RE: Dell XPS M1530 Laptop

It appears that I have been locked out of this unit. I get a screen that reads;  I must provide a " System Security" password. Is this prompt indicating that I'm dealing with a "Bios" based password? How can I correct this issue.  I've tried just about  every approach I could find with no results at all. Can someone please give a little direction here. It will be deeply appreciated.

Call Dell with verification of ownership and they'll generate a master password.  There is a standard support call charge for the call.
