Reformated and lost network card
I have a dell 1100 laptop. I reformated the HD and reloaded all of the driver etc... But the network card is off. On the my computer screen the NIC power manager icon the lower block states the network card is off. Not the battery power down off feature but off completely. How do I turn that on. I have loaded and reload the newest drivers as well as the old with no luck. What can I do?

BEFORE you load any other drivers, you MUST load:
The Dell notebook system software
The chipset driver.
THEN load the network driver.

I used the dell reload disc first
Then I had to manually find the drivers and I followed the dell web site and did it in the order they stated that agrees with you chipset first.
then the rest inorder.
should I uninstall or reformat again and start over?

It is fixed, I did the entire reformate over again this time with the CD boot using XP disc.
Still had to load all of the driver manually in the order on the dell site.
Thanks for the suggestions.
