I own a Latitude E6440 laptop with 500GB HDD with 8GB Flash.
I want to copy the system drive (c:) to a new 250 GB SSD drive.
I used Acronis image backup to make a copy of the c partition. After that I copied the image back to the c drive of my new ssd drive.
After replacing the old with the new ssd drive into my laptop the system says is no operating system found.:emotion-12:
What am I doing wrong?
Did you only copy the C partition or did you clone the entire disk? If you only copied C then you probably don't have the boot partition which is the problem. You could try inserting the Windows installation DVD or USB stick to boot the pc/laptop and try to do the "Startup Repair". (See http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ss/windows-7-startup-repair.htm)
I just swapped my original HDD for an SSD and I used the free version of EaseUS Todo Backup to clone the entire disk. (See http://www.todo-backup.com/backup-resource/copy-and-clone-hard-drive.htm)
I hope this helps.
