Replacing XPS 15 hard drive

My XPS 15 laptop purchased in January 2011 needs to have the HD replaced. It's a 640 GB 7200 RPM drive and I'm looking to replace it with either a 2 TB Seagate 5400 RPM or a WD 2 TB 7200 RPM.  Will I have any issues with compatibility since they are much larger GB drives?  Any suggestions?

RE: Replacing XPS 15 hard drive

As long as the drives are 9.5 mm in height, you will have no problem.  There are many drives over 1T that are 12.5 or 15 mm in height - these won't physically fit into the system.
