STUDIO 1555 sim slot

Hello,

I own a dell studio 1555 laptop, and recently i found out that i have a sim slot under the battery.

do i need something special for it?

It holds the SIM card issued to you by your service provider (NOTE:  it's NOT the one that goes in your phone -- they will issue a new one when you sign a data contract).

You need a GSM/GPRS WWAN card compatible with your wireless company's service, and of course a contract with them for wireless Internet service.

In the US, only AT&T is supported by Dell -- they don't have cards for T-mobile (and the other two major providers, Sprint and Verizon, don't use SIM).
