Screen flashes frequently after some time

Hello Sir,

I have one Dell Inspiron 15 5458 series laptop. Its screen flashes many times automatically. By flashing I mean that its brightness increases immediately or decreases to zero suddenly only for a moment. I have googled for it and disabled 2 services from msconfig. But still, that problem continues. Also, sometimes when I try to decrease the brightness of the screen using the function key provided, laptop suddenly goes in sleep mode.

Please Help me with this.

Thank you.

Thanks @ Robert-P.

I have checked the link you provided. I guess it is for continuously flashing of the screen. For me, that is not the case. It runs normally for most of the time. But after some time it starts flashing at some intervals. Flashing like the one that is observed when someone uses a camera flash. Some high-intensity light suddenly coming from the screen for a moment at some specific intervals.

Also mine is a signature edition laptop with a touch-screen display. So I also can not follow the steps provided in one of the answers from the link you provided.

Please help me out with this.

Does the same thing happen when using an external monitor?  If so, then please perform a systems diagnostics by either pressing F12 at startup or by using Dell Support Assist .
