Should download speed be the same on different laptops with the same wireless card?
I have the current XPS 15 (9530), the top of the line model. My friend has the top MacBoook Pro. Both of us have the Intel Dual Band Wireless-ac 7260 and are connected to the same 5GHz network, yet he can achieve a download speed of +100Mbps and on mine I can only achieve ~40Mbps. This is using the same speed test website and server. Is this a faulty network card, or is it down to something else?
Many thanks.

Turns out he doesn't have the same wireless card, but should there be such a large difference in download speed?

But the hardware is very similar, and given it's such a new laptop and clearly the network is capable of 857Mbps which is quoted in intels website, should there be such a significant difference?

Different OS, Different Price, Different CPU, Different Speed Ram.

I also just tried a speed test on my old old laptop which is pretty close to 6 years old, it achieved 90-100Mbps...?
