Solidworks crashing frequently and repeatedly, can anyone help?
Before you ask: I'm a student, so I can't use SW's support because I didn't buy it directly - I got it through my university, and the tech support there was...less than helpful. I have an Inspiron 5749 running Windows 8.1, bought this month, with an nVidia 840M graphics card and 8 GB of RAM, so there should be no issue with meeting system requirements. I have a friend who has the same laptop with the same issue. I tried to run diagnostics with ePSA, but "waiting for DST completion" didn't finish after 35 minutes so I stopped it. I know this is a long shot, but is there any chance that something is wrong on the laptop's end?
I've run SW on an Acer Aspire (albeit slowly) which I think was worse in every other spec, so there shouldn't have been a problem. I check the crash log, it said memory violation? I've been advised to use memtest86, is that a good idea?
