Split Screen on Dell N4110

I have diagonally white screen with thick black lines and the other half is OK.

What is tha cause ?

- LCD Monitor?

- Flex ?

- Video Card ?

Hi Kutav,

From what your describing I would suspect the LCD panel its self has become damaged causing the display issue. Here’s some more info on what to look out for when troubleshooting the screen. Remember in testing to always check the display before Windows loads to make sure drivers / software is not interfering with the test. (the Dell pre-boot diagnostics are a great to confirm)

 

Diagonal / jagged lines

 

Displays presenting with both horizontal and vertical lines are usually the result of a damaged LCD especially if paired with a diagonal point of failure as shown in the image above. If only lines are horizontal or vertical lines are displayed without diagonal see the troubleshooting guide linked at the bottom of this reply for more information.

 

Black / White - Ink appearance 

Large Black and white areas on the screen are usually the result of the glass layer of the LCD fracturing, If the screen is displaying the same throughout POST and into Windows the LCD its self will most likely need replacing and other components checking for damage.
