Studio 1747 Graphics turn Black with limited control (CTRL-ALT-DEL) capability to get out
I own a studio 17 with an Ati Mobility Radeon HD 4650.
When running movies at the 1600x900 setting I experience the a stop in the picture leading to the Black screen of death. Scaling down to the 1280x720 setting everything works fine. Have updated the driver with no change. Unfortunately I might as well buy the 15 monitor since that is all I can see anyway. Suggestions?

Have you tried the regular ATI drivers, modified to work with ATI mobility? Either 9.12 modded with the mobility modder or ATI 10.3 leaked beta drivers?

The first link had the same driver as the latest from Dell, didn't see the version you suggested. Downloaded the the second link 10.2 and 10.3 couldn't get either of them to install. Still experiencing the same problem.
