Studio 1749 & Windows 8 touch screen not working

Hi all,

I have a Dell Studio 1749 with a touch screen and I have upgraded Windows 7 to a legacy Windows 8.

Unfortunately my touch screen isn't working anymore and is not recognized by windows at all.

Win 8 has installed a generic driver for my touch screen.

Do you know where I can find this driver ? I looked into dell support site and wasn't able to find anything about this.

Thanks for your kind answers.

Ian

Hello Ian,

The Studio 1749 was not tested with Windows 8 due to which drivers compatible with Windows8 are unavailable in Dell support site. However, I have been doing a research on this issue and came across the N-trig Driver for Studio 17” touch screen drivers compatible with Windows8 64-bit.

Please write back to us if you have any further questions.

Did this then went to control panel and ran "pen and touch". My touch screen is now working. BTW. using an IPad for this response.

Win 8.1 supports the touch screen on the 1749! :) After loading, had 2 unknown drivers -- Multimedia Controller and Unknown device. Install and enjoy!
