Swollen Battery on XPS 9550 and touch pad hard to press
Bought dell xps 9550 on March of 2016 and after a year and 2 months the touchpad is difficult to press and select text. Its kind of dissapointing to see this issue on this expensive laptops. Had owned sony vaio and other laptops and never had such issue. Called dell and no help due to out of warranty. The guy tried to convince me is not the battery problem and to sign up for warranty so i can ship my laptop to them. This is *** since i already pulled the battery out and can see it's swollen. Also the touchpad worked after laptop was off and the battery cooled down for some time. Whennit swelled up again and went to the same problem. Decided just to buy battery myself and change it out. Not getting another dell in the future.

I have exactly the same issue. Bought an XPS 15 in February 2016. Today I noticed the touchpad wasn't working. I work with pictures a lot, so I need the precision that the touchpad once had. Noticed the touchpad was raised above the wrist rest. Started looking online and found the swollen battery issue. My system is also out of warranty. But, c'mon Dell. This is a defective battery. I take very good care of my laptop. I will be pursuing a replacement from Dell. Noted that they are no longer even selling these batteries. They should replace and hold the battery manufacturer liable for the replacement costs.
Just got over the screen flicker bios issue about 3 weeks ago. This is a great laptop, but Dell quality and support is lacking.
